Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington, known by his moniker ‘Akpi,’ has ignited a firestorm of controversy after taking to social media to declare his search for a girlfriend between the ages of 16 and 20. The singer, who has amassed a following for his eccentric persona, made the announcement via his official Instagram page.
In his candid post, the artist boasted about embracing newfound freedoms in his home country that he couldn’t enjoy while residing in the United States. He seemingly reveled in his ability to pursue activities that were off-limits to him abroad. Darlington went on to share a peculiar detail about his personal life, disclosing that he was already in the company of an 18-year-old girl in his residence. As if to provide tangible evidence of his claim, he flaunted a shoe purportedly belonging to her.
With a mix of bravado and candor, Speed Darlington penned the following words: “I’m doing everything I couldn’t do in the USA in my Fatherland. I’m looking for a girlfriend number 2, 16 to 20 years old. Anyways, all these announcements are a waste; I just need to do what I did before, which is go do shows, spend a week in the village after the show, find somebody, and bring her to Lagos.”
