In a week of sustained bearish sentiments on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, the All Share Index of the ended the week in the red, dipping by 1.10% compared to a 1.38% loss recorded last week. A turnover of 949.68 million shares valued at N10.28 billion were exchanged in 14,833 deals, compared to 1.39 billion shares worth N12.17 billion were traded in 14,821 deals recorded last week. Market Year to date is -13.92%.

The Top Three Equities traded by volume were Capital Oil Plc, United Bank for Africa Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, with a total of 370.17 million shares worth N2.38 billion traded in 2,042 deals. Combined, they accounted for 38.98% and 23.21% of the total equity turnover volume and value respectively.

The Financial Services Industry, the Oil and Gas Industry and the Conglomerates Industry led the activity chart. The Financial Services Industry had 577.29 million shares valued at N4.87 billion traded in 8,006 deals, while the Oil and Gas Industry had 228.99 million shares worth N1.69 billion traded in 1,798 deals and the Conglomerates Industry had 50.98 million shares worth N275.45 million traded in 794 deals.
