Following the recent attempted coup in Turkey, Turkish citizens in Nigeria have staged a protest in Abuja as a show of support for President Tayyip Erdogan.

The protest, which was held earlier today, Thursday, was organised by two groups – Musiyad and Little Turkey Nigeria.

The protesters numbered about 100 proceeded from the Abuja parade ground to the Turkish embassy.

On arrival at the Turkish embassy, the group was received by the Turkish ambassador to Nigeria, Hakan Cakil.

It will be recalled that Hakan Cakil had previously asked the Nigerian Government to shut down some institutions in Nigeria over their alleged link to the failed coup.

A list of the suspected institutions has also been released.
