USAID Spends $ 450 million Yearly on Health Projects in Nigeria

Nigeria Mission Director, United States Agency for International Development(USAID), Mr. Michael Harvey has revealed that the agency spends a total of $450 million every year on intervention projects in Nigeria which include T-SHIP, family planning, reproductive health, among others.

Harvey said this during the Targeted State Health Impact Project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-T-SHIP) end of project Dissemination Meeting that marked the end of a 5 -year partnership held at the Giginya Coral Hotel, Sokoto.

He added that $ 89 million was spent on the Targeted States High Impact Project (T-SHIP) in Sokoto and Bauchi states in six years.

He noted that the T-SHIP project had impacted tremendously in reducing child and maternal mortality in Sokoto state.
