National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has said Visionscape Sanitation Solutions, the operators of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative, is not his company.

He made this known while mediating in a rift involving the Lagos State Government and the Association of Waste Managers of Nigeria (AWAN) on Friday.

The government of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode had contracted Visionscape to manage waste in the state, a move AWAN, also known as PSP operators, saw as an attempt to endanger their businesses because of a “foreign company”.

The association had approached Tinubu to submit a petition against the state government under Ambode and pleaded with the respected politician to intervene.

While entertaining their petition, Tinubu lamented that the situation was allowed to degenerate to the level of writing petitions.

He noted with concern that waste was gradually finding its way into Lagos.

The former Lagos state governor promised to submit the petition to the state government.

But, he said, “I want to correct something and I think I have to do it publicly. The rumour I’ve heard all over the state and on social media is that I am the one who brought a foreign company. I am not the owner of Visionscape. Categorically, I’m telling you today, I have no penny. Yes, that is the truth.”
