Embattled Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has ignored pleas and clamours from former Super Eagles players and Coach; failing to include IK Uche, Kalu Uche, Iheanacho, and Obafemi Martins in new 24 man list of players for Eagles October clash against Sudan.

The list which was released during the weekend had Michael Babatunde, a key player in the 2014 World Cup invited.

Victor Moses who currently plays for Stock City on loan from Chelsea was also invited along with World cup star Vincent Enyeama.

New addition to the squad include:

Ugonna Anyora, a 23-year-old midfielder who plays for FC Haugesund, a club in Norwegian League.

Aaron Samuel, a 20-year-old player in the Chinese League. Aaron has scored two goals in ten matches for Guangzhou R & F.

Sunday Emmanuel, a sideliner at an Austrian Bundesliga club SV ScholzGrodig, he has played for only 65 minutes since the start of the season.

Hope Akpan, who currently holds midfield position for Reading FC, England was invited as well.

Hope Akpan is undoubtedly in a very good form in his club and Keshi hopes he brings the same spirit as Nigeria plays Sudan.

“Hope Akpan is a player we’ve been monitoring for sometime now. He has already played six matches for his club this season and we believe he can add something to the group,” Keshi told Supersport.

According to Keshi, these players were invited to try out their chances to impress and hopefully get a flight for a permanent stay in the squad.

The 25 players are expected to gather at the camp for training in preparation for their must-win Double header against Sudan in October.
