Nigeria marked her 60th Independence Anniversary on Thursday and there was a flurry of congratulatory messages from home and abroad. Images and videos of the iconic Burj Khalifa going green and white reverberated around the globe.

Many Nigerian entertainers also took to social media to celebrate the nation’s journey and instill hope in the minds of their compatriots.
