The dismembered body of a yet-to-be-identified lady have been found packed in two sacks in a community in the Kubwa area of Abuja.
It was learnt that the lady’s remains were dumped by suspected ritualists at a riverbank in the community on Monday.
Foul odour oozing from the corpse drew the attention of residents.
“This morning (Monday), we started perceiving foul odour near the river.
“When we got there, we found two bags. The bags had bloodstains. When we checked, we saw human parts cut into pieces.
“There was also a dead animal alongside the corpse. They must have dumped the corpse there and we are suspecting ritualists.
“This is because the head was not there and the corpse was that of a lady,” The Punch quoted a resident identified as Shehu as saying.
Confirming the incident, acting FCT police spokesperson, Omotayo Oduniyi, said that speculations of ritual killing have not been established.
The police image-maker said that investigation was ongoing on the matter.
