The Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole has shocked workers in the state by paying 7 months salary arrears.
The workers of Egor local government council, Edo State burst into jubilation over the payment of the salary arrears.
Recall that the state government was owing the workers 17 months salary.
The workers commended the State House of Assembly members for their prompt response to approval of funds for the arrears payment.
Speaking on the development, the President of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Edo State chapter, Comrade Young Ilenikhena expressed the joy and gratitude of the workers. He further urged the state government to stay committed to paying the remaining 10 months salary arrears.
