All Shares Index Loses 0.86% On The Back of Investor Uncertainty

For a second day in a row investors dumped their shares on the back of the recent wave of uncertainty that has hit the market, allowing the bears to take the day and leading to a 0.86% slump of the All Share Index after losing 0.61% yesterday. The primary index closed at 29,572 basis points losing 256 basis points. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.16 trillion.

All the indices ended in red as the total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by 8.13% after increasing by 14.29% yesterday, the total volume of shares traded on the floor dipped by 61.50% after going up by 142.70% yesterday, while the total value of transactions recorded dropped by 74.03% after increasing by 207.40% yesterday.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were ACCESS, TRANSCORP, CONTINSURE, DIAMONDBNK and ZENITHBANK with a combined total of 75 million shares traded.

Market breadth closed negative as BETAGLASS led 14 Gainers against 34 Losers led by GUINNESS.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -14.67%.
