APC now controls the two richest and most powerful states

The All Progressives Congress now has control of two of the richest, and most viable states in Nigeria, Port Harcourt and Lagos.

Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria, the nerve center of Nigeria’s economy and has belonged to the opposition for over a decade. The opposition in Nigeria is quickly becoming the mainstream party as 5 state governors left the ranks of the People’s Democratic Party to join its folds.

One of those governor’s, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State receives the highest allocation from the Federal Government. He is also a personal friend of Governor Fashola of Lagos State who is seen as Nigeria’s most performing and visionary leader. Lagos State generates the highest revenue internally in the country, and also contributes the highest taxes to the coffers of the Federal Government.

Port Harcourt has incredible oil wealth and is home to one of the most foremost oil and gas industry in Nigeria, surpassing the other States in the Niger Delta.
