Barcelona denies claim stating Messi wants to be paid more than Ronaldo

Barcelona President Sandro Rossell has denied rumours about Messi demanding an increase in his wages.

The world footballer of the year was rumoured to be upset about Ronaldo’s new contract at Real Madrid, the player believes he deserves to be paid more given his contribution to the club’s history in recent years.

Spanish newspaper SPORT claims that Messi is seeking a huge rise in his wages that will come up to 12.5 million euros.

‘Does Ronaldo’s renewal affect Messi’s contract? Messi hasn’t said anything to us,’ Rosell said.

‘He’s happy here and he’s at the best club in the world. No news is good news.’
