Bears End Three Day Stock Exchange Gaining Streak

The 3-day winning streak of the primary index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange was cut short today as it lost 0.68% compared to a 0.35% gain recorded yesterday. The index ended at 30,199.15 basis points, losing 125 basis points. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.37 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by 7.36% after increasing by 1.98% yesterday. The total volume of shares traded on the floor reduced by 15.42% after increasing by 134.9% yesterday, while the total value of transactions recorded increased by 6.75% after increasing by 66.56% yesterday.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were OANDO, FBNH, GUARANTY, ZENITHBANK and DNMEYER with a combined total of 130 million shares traded.

Market breadth closed negative as GUINNESS led 15 Gainers against 21 Losers led by DANGCEM.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -12.86%.
