Bulls Move Market To Record 0.45 Pct Gain

The primary index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on the last day of the week posted a gain of 0.45% as demand increased signalling an increase in investor appetite. The bourse recorded a 0.11% gain yesterday. The index gained 134 basis points to close at 29,834.21 basis points at the end of trading today. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.25 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by 22.19% compared to a 1.25% decrease recorded yesterday. The total volume of shares traded on the floor surged by 106.76% against an increase of 7.61% recorded yesterday, while the total value of transactions recorded dipped by 32.16% compared with a 109.11% increase recorded yesterday.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were CAPOIL, GUARANTY, CONTINSURE, UBA and ETI with a combined total of 283 million shares traded.

Market breadth closed negative as FO led 19 Gainers against 20 Losers led by MOBIL.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -13.92%.
