Chelsea or Liverpool? Torres Discloses His Preferred Team To Win Premiership Title

Former Spanish striker Fernando Torres played for both Chelsea and Liverpool and one only needs to look at his record with both teams to see whom he prefers

While the Spaniard was on fire for Liverpool scoring 81 goals in 142 appearances for the Red before earning a move to Chelsea

There he had a nightmare facing both injury and loss of form and in the end he was only able to manage 19 goals in 5 seasons at the bridge

Watching his old team Liverpool beat Fulham 2-0, the striker revealed that in a choice between his former clubs for the title, he’d prefer a Liverpool win.

“At Chelsea there are still some team-mates that I played with but at Liverpool there is nobody there – only Alberto Moreno, who I played with at the national team.” Torres said on Sky Sports

“I am still in touch with the staff though so I wish them all the best. I know how important it is for Liverpool to win the Premier League.

“Hopefully they can win the Premier League and Chelsea can win it the year after.”

Torres now plays in Japan with Sagan Tosu after leaving Atletico Madrid last summer

“I want both of them to win every game and when they play each other I won’t watch the game!” Torres added

“I have feelings for both of them. Liverpool was the best time in my career – I love the city, the supporters and the club.

“I am still in touch with them and they made me feel at home when I was there.

“And with Chelsea they gave me what I wanted as a player – trophies. I have great memories of my time at Chelsea so it is difficult to choose.”

Torres had a successful period with Chelsea trophy-wise with Chelsea winning the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup while he was there.
