Pastor (Mrs) Rachael Odesola has admonished Christian women on joy in God’s presence, saying this will keep them resilient even in the midst of sufferings.

Odesola made this call at the Sisters’ Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church (RCCG), FCT Province 7, with the theme: “In the Fullness of His Joy’’ in Abuja.

She said that the Christian kind of joy “is rooted in a person’s relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.”

The cleric said that it was possible to lose ones joy through sin “because sin replaces joy with sorrow”.

“The world we live in has so many challenges but God has promised us fullness of joy in the midst of them all.

“As we bring our troubles to God, and praise Him, we will realise that He is the one that can give true joy.

“Joy comes from Christ dwelling within us and flowing continuously,’’ she said.

She gave the example of Paul’s ministry in the Holy Bible, saying that it was not all about prestige, money or fame but the change that an unbeliever would have through the preaching of the Gospel.

She said that Christians experience great joy when they grow in grace, rooted in the Lord and enduring till the end.

In her welcome address, Pastor (Mrs) Comfort Sule, the wife of the FCT Province 7, said that as the theme of the convention suggests, ” joy comes from God’s presence”.

“Only God can give true joy in the midst of troubles. As we forget about all our troubles and praise Him from the depth of our hearts, the heathens will not be able to ask who our God is anymore,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that highlight of the convention include health talk on Breast and Cervical Cancer, and test on cervical cancer and talk on Building a Joyful Home, among others. (NAN)
