Corruption? Yes! PDP? APC? By Olukanni Oyindamola

PDP 1

I encourage everyone to follow their heart and head this time in choosing the next president for this most populous black nation on earth. By the special grace of God I’m not a card carrying member of any existing political party in this nation and I’m not planning to be – at least not now.

I will want to persuade us nonetheless to please, if we’ve decided or sworn to be a loyal fan of PDP, reconsider this thought and try any other party around, most especially, APC.

I’m gunning for APC not because its a saint’s party or because I’ve been paid to do this but simply because I believe in supporting a devil that is fighting against a devil terrorising everyone. Who knows, this new devil might make some little amends that’ll suit the populace. Although Looking around, the new devil is working. I believe it will have its soft spot for the people despite the fact that he too might loot our money but we don’t have a choice, once he works and we can see it, if he would at least try to put smile on our faces, we’ll all be gunning for him.
This is my stand on APC.

PDP’s being ruling us for 15years and this term is terribly terrible. A president with the doctorate degree and ASUU has gone on 5months strike, a well learned president and the medical practitioners have gone on strike, huge billions of Dollars has always been reported missing or mismanaged (in Dollars o, not Naira, in naira na Trillions), a president whom his dog (Asari Dokubo), is currently barking and has promised to bite everyone in the nation if his oga at the top would not re-elected in 2015 (“would make
Nigeria ungovernable if President Goodluck Jonathan was not re-elected in 2015”) and nothing has been done about it. A president that all he does is smile whenever questions that regards life threatening issues was asked.
A president that has so advertised the office of corruption in Nigeria directly (in the case of Sanusi’s suspension), indirectly (in the case of Stellah Odua where he didn’t react on time) or never acted against glaring corruption cases(in case of Deziani Alison Madueke when she made known the fact that she mismanaged some NNPC funds).

Asides these are others like the SURE-P, the $1.6B injected to our moribund refineries for the Turn Around Maintenance (TAM), the Farouq Lawan case in which we don’t know if he was indicted, the drama in Rivers State, Nigeria Governor’s Forum election, the police pension fund e.t.c.

Watching and listening to my president’s media chat and his gesture got me mad and then disappointed and then bitter, then I got series of some other emotions I still cannot capture in words.
I wonder how a president will say he was disappointed in the remark of a governor and made this statement “if we removed the army at Borno for one month, let’s see if the governor will be able to stay at his government house, just one month”, not in his sitting room or while having the sapele water with his colleagues but on a national TV, to the world.

I want everyone to have a rethink and let’s use our power to bring in another party to rule us, APC seems the party that should be given the baton.

I believe in the German proverb that says “The main thing is keeping the main thing the main thing” Nigerians are the main thing here.
