Fani-Kayode Fires Back At Sheriff: I’m Ready To Meet You In Court

Following the threat by newly-appointed Chairman of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff, that he would not go scot-free for linking him with the Boko Haram sect, former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode on Tuesday said he was more than ready to meet him in court.

Sheriff had during his acceptance speech as PDP chairman in Abuja on Monday attributed the rumour that he was a Boko Haram sponsor to the handiwork of detractors, adding that Fani-Kayode would not go scot-free for saying he was “intrinsically linked with the Boko Haram sect”.

However, while addressing newsmen shortly after the opening session of PDP Former Ministers’ Forum in Abuja, the former Aviation Minister said that it was unfortunate that Sheriff, who should be seeking ways to commune with stakeholders in order to move the party forward, was issuing threats to members of the party.

According to Fani-Kayode, “This, I think is unacceptable and nobody is intimidated. The fact of the matter is that he wants to set Nigeria on fire, he also wants to set PDP on fire and that fire is going to consume him and him alone.”

The controversial PDP chieftain noted that Sheriff’s statement was an empty threat, adding that he is ready to meet the former Borno State Governor in court.

“I am not like anybody he has met before in his life. He will meet a resistance he never expected,” Fani-Kayode stressed.
