Fayose Hits At Buhari, Obasanjo Over $16bn Power Project Scandal

Ayodele Fayose, the executive Governor of Ekiti state seems to be enjoying the current beef between President Buhari and former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Recall that Buhari had hit out at Obasanjo questioning where the $16bn claimed to have been used for the power sector went and noting that the power sector was still poor.

Fayose took to his Twitter handle to mock the two stating that he was enjoying the public display of “brickbats” between the two leaders.

The governor also got a little petty stating that this was a vindication for him after he earlier warned that people who brought Buhari in would end up regretting the decision.

On his Twitter, he wrote; “I am enjoying these latest brickbats between President Buhari and ex-President Obasanjo. They should keep exposing themselves for Nigerians to know what they have been hiding.

“Nigerians should remember I warned that those who brought Buhari will regret entrusting him with power.”

Recall that initially, Obasanjo, in an open letter had told Buhari not to run for reelection in 2019. He had also since then called Buhari’s government a failure.

Buhari had on Tuesday hit back at the elder statesman, questioning the $16bn power project he had embarked on while in power and asking why it was not yielding dividends.

Obasanjo, not one to take things of such nature lying down had responded to Buhari, calling him a beer parlor gossip and also asked him to read his book “My Watch” to understand the matter properly.
