Former Super Eagles Coach, Stephen Keshi Dies At 54

Nigerian former footballer and former coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi died in the early hours of Wednesday, 8 May in Benin City, Edo State.

The Nigerian icon according to family was not ill before his death but members of the deceased’s family suspected he never got over the grief of his wife’s death.

Recall that Keshi lost his wife of 33-years last year to cancer

Family members said: “He was not ill at all, never showed any signs of illness, but we suspect he never got over the death of his wife,” a friend said.

Keshi is survived by four children and his mother.

  • This is sad, must he die because he lost his wife? now his kids are without both parents. how would they fare losing both parents in the space of 12 months? This stress on the kids could have been avoided. i feel so sad for them.
