Investors Remain Wary as ASI Loses 0.15%

The All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange for the fourth day in a row lost value, ending the week in red and losing 2.31% for the week. The ASI depreciated by 0.15% to close the week at 30,705.62 basis points. All the indices ended the week in red also, as the total number of deals recorded on the floor reduced by 11.08%.

The total value of all transactions recorded depreciated from ₦4 Bn to ₦2.4 Bn today, a 39.75% decrease. The total volume of transactions recorded on the floor today also dipped by 38.17% as Market Capitalization reduced from ₦10.54 trillion to close at₦10.52 trillion at the close of trading for the week.

Market breadth for the day was also negative as FO led 21 Gainers against 23 losers led by MOBIL.

It was not all bad news for the Indexes as the Insurance index, Oil and Gas Index and the Consumer Goods Index appreciated by 0.59%, 0.53% and 0.57% respectively. The ASEM Index remained unchanged, while the NSE 30 Index, Banking Index, LOTUS Index and the Industrial Index all recorded losses.

GUARANTY ended the week as the most actively traded stock by volume as 27,866,872 units of its shares were exchanged today. DIAMONDBNK, ZENITHBANK, TRANSCORP and AIICO completed the list of the most active stock on the exchange today.

The NSE Year-To-Date currently stands at -11.40%.
