A shocking story is emerging from the state of Texas. According to KHOU.com, a ten-year old girl has been arrested for allegedly raping a 4-year old boy. The incident reportedly took place in the apartment complex where they both lived.
In a report that aired on the station, the girl’s mother is suggesting that her child’s behavior was innocent and that she did not intend to inflict harm on the other child. The mother told reporters, “She was just being a child having fun and playing,” the girl’s mother said. “She didn’t know she was doing anything wrong.”
The investigator for the Houston Police Department tells a very different story. After the allegations were made, a juvenile s*x crimes investigator was assigned to the case. Although the incident took place in April, investigators needed to gather as much evidence as possible before an arrest could be made. They gathered enough that the ten-year old was arrested last week.
The young girl is reported as saying, “Me and my mom were crying and then she took me to the police car,” said the little girl accused of the heinous crime. “I didn’t want to get in [the car].”
The mother goes on to say, “Just to see her looking through those bars screaming for me to get her out was a nightmare.”
Despite the mother’s insistence that her daughter had done no wrong, the girl was taken to a juvenile facility. There, she was fingerprinted, issued a standard jumpsuit and spent 4 days locked up before she had a chance to appear before a judge.
As of now, the specific details of the case have not been disclosed to the public. It is also unclear as to how the four-year old is doing after such a traumatic event.
