EFCC Arrests Akpabio Over Allegations Of Graft

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Chief Godswill Akpabio has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of graft.

He was said to have been arrested by the anti-corruption agency around 5.20pm on Friday.

The Senator, who is reportedly being interrogated over corruption allegations in his tenure as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State from 2007 to 2015, visited the EFCC Headquarters in company of few aides and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Ricky Tarfa, Vanguard reports.

A source in the know on the matter, while speaking to the paper on condition of anonymity said that the governor is presently being quizzed by top officials of the anti-graft agency.
