Kogi State Governor Makes Five New Appointments

The Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello has today made five new political appointments as he aims to establish his government.

The names of the appointees were released in a statement made on Monday, March 14, in Lokoja, the state capital, by Ayoade Folashade, the secretary to Kogi state government.

The statement shows that Bello appointed Barrister Justina Abanida from Yagba West local government area as the chairman of Kogi State Universal Basic Education. Alhaji Yakubu Oseni from Okene local government area was appointed the chairman of Kogi State Board of Internal Revenue, while Emmanuel Odiniya, who hails from Olamaboro local government area, was named the chairman of Bureau of Local Government Pension.

According to the statement, Other appointees are Arch. Robert M. Achanya – the director-general of Bureau of Public Private Partnership, Barrister Moses Okezie – a senior special assistant on speech writing to the governor.

The appointments take immediate effect.

The Governor has been steadily building with the appointments of Ayodale Folashade as the new secretary to the state government and Momoh Jubril as the new accountant-general of the state happening a couple of weeks ago.

The list of the appointees also included 20 new special advisers and three senior special assistants on print media, electronic and new media and will all take effect immediately.
