Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode, who is also a former All Progressives Congress chieftain has threatened to sue the spokesman of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed over libel.

Fani-Kayode’s lawyer, Ahmed Raji & Co, in a letter entitled: “Re: Libel publication against Chief Fani-Kayode, published in Vanguard newspaper of June 30, dated  July 7 and signed by Nnenna Makwe for Ahmed Raji & Co,” stated that the statement credited to Mohammed had lowered the estimation of its clients.

The letter said, “you will agree with us that the publication defamed our client and it lowered his estimation in the opinion of right-thinking members of the society. Our client has informed us that there is no iota of truth in any of the insinuations and innuendos contained in your publication.

“Needless to say that since the publication, our client has been bombarded with numerous enquiries from all over the world and he had since been put under severe pressure of explaining himself. Consequently, we have our client’s instructions to demand from you the following: “An immediate retraction of the publication to be published in three major newspapers to be approved by our client.

“The retraction must contain an unreserved apology to our client, offer for damages,” adding that the “conditions should be implemented within seven days of the receipt” of the letter.
