Nigerian singer and former signee of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), Lil Frosh, has made a public appeal to his former boss, Davido, seeking a second chance to revive his music career. The plea comes after a tumultuous period in 2020 when Lil Frosh faced serious allegations of assault made by his ex-girlfriend, Gift Camille.
In 2020, the controversy unfolded when Camille’s brother, Michael, took to social media, accusing Lil Frosh of physically assaulting his sister on multiple occasions. Disturbing pictures of Camille’s bruised face accompanied the allegations, sparking widespread condemnation and legal action against the singer. Lil Frosh was subsequently arraigned before a Yaba magistrate court and remanded in Ikoyi prison.
In response to the allegations and legal proceedings, Davido took decisive action, terminating Lil Frosh’s contract with DMW. The severity of the situation was evident as Davido distanced himself from any association with individuals involved in domestic violence.
Despite the legal fallout, in 2022, Camille withdrew her case against Lil Frosh after reportedly settling out of court. However, the scars of the incident appear to linger, as Lil Frosh, in a recent Instagram post, asserted his innocence and claimed he was framed and blackmailed. He expressed frustration over the impact of the accusations on his career and pleaded for a second chance from Davido.
“God knows I didn’t beat Gemini, I was framed, I was blackmailed. I still can’t get my career after all I paid her because of the lies that were told against me,” Lil Frosh wrote in his Instagram plea.
The singer revealed that his attempts to explain the situation to Davido were met with resistance due to Davido’s zero tolerance for violence against women. Lil Frosh implored the public to assist him in convincing Davido to reconsider and give him another chance.
