A married man, Emmanuel Isibor is in police custody after his girlfriend died in a hotel room where they both lodged in the Festac Town area of Lagos.
The victim, identified simply as Esther, reportedly lodged with Isibor at the hotel on the night of May 31.
It was learnt that the victim suddenly took ill and began foaming in the mouth and nostrils.
A terrified Isibor was said to have frantically called the hotel manager for help and the manager was joined by other staff of the hotel.
It was further learnt that the team rushed Esther to FirstLine Hospital but she died on the way.
On arrival at the hospital, the doctor on duty was said to have certified that she was brought in dead.

The hotel manager, Obijomi Adedeji, lodged a report of the incident at the FESTAC Police Station.
This led to the arrest of the suspect, who is currently undergoing interrogation over the death.
Confirming the incident, state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said that the case was reported to the police and the matter was under investigation.
He said that the suspect has been detained pending the outcome of investigations.
