A 45-year-old man, John Ulaha has confessed to impregnating his mother-in-law, Mrs Ashetu Igbasue, 42. The incident occurred in Awe local government area of Nasarawa state.

Mr Ulaha, a farmer and carpenter, is a native of Keana LGA who lives in the state capital Lafia,  Nasarawa State where he carries out his carpentry business.

According to Saturday Sun, Mr Ulaha and his wife Victoria Ulaha, who owns a shop in the state capital, also own a farm in Awe LGA, with which they augment their income.

After the Benue State Government signed an anti-open grazing law in the state, many Fulani herdsmen started to relocate to neighbouring Awe and were destroying other people’s farms.

To prevent the herdsmen from destroying their farm produce of yam and guinea corn, Victoria Ulaha and her husband agreed to relocate to the community to evacuate their farm produce.

However, she could not go with her husband because she was busy with her shop in Lafia.

She invited her 42-year-old widowed mother to go with him.

In September 2017, John Ulaha and his mother-in-law relocated to the community in Nasarawa.

The mother-in-law took in three months later and informed her daughter.

The mother-in-law is seeking an abortion because of the stigma attached.

“I’m distressed, I don’t know how to handle this matter,” Victoria Ulaha said.
