A young teacher, Mallam Aliyu Ibrahim, has been bathed and seriously injured with hot water by the mother of his 10 children, following his decision to take in a new wife.
Ibrahim stated that he had given his wife, Lauratu Ahmad, some money to get herself some things as a form of consolation for his plans to have a second wife.
And since she did not argue, condemn nor change her attitude towards him, he had felt that Lauratu was not bothered about the news.
His misjudgment however landed him in trouble as his wife stormed into his room while he was listening to a radio program and poured hot water on him.
Lauratu is said to have also made an attempt to pour the water on his private parts.
Narrating his ordeal, Ibrahim stated, “Since the time I told her about my plan to marry another wife, I did not see any change of attitude from her and we had been living together peacefully. In fact, she promised me that she would be among those that would buy the wedding items for the bride.
He continued, “Last night after I returned home, I bought some meat for them. I met her boiling the water, but I had no idea what she was going to use it for.”
Since the incident, Lauratu has gone into hiding and Ibrahim is being treated at the Danbatta General Hospital.
