NSE All Share Index Dips by 0.98%

Despite an 858.92% increase in the volume of transactions closed on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange, the All Share Index ended the day down by 0.98% to close at 29,747.57 basis points. Bearish sentiments led to the loss.

The total value of transactions increased by 107.07%; from 2,550,802,878.80 to 5,282,039,111.47 shares. The number of deals recorded also increased by 12.88%.

Apart from the Consumer Goods and Insurance index that ended the day in the green, the LOTUS, Industrial, NSE 30, Banking and Oil and Gas ended the day in the red, while the ASEM Index remained unchanged.

On the back of the interest of an Ivory Coast company in the purchase of substantial shares in EQUITYASUR, it was the most actively traded stock by volume today as 2,529,376,316 units of its shares were traded. ZENITHBANK, ACCESS, GUARANTY and SKYEBANK completed the list of the five most actively traded stock on the exchange today.

Market breadth closed in the negative as NESTLE led 16 Gainers against 27 Losers led by SEPLAT.

Year-To-Date stands at -14.17%.
