Mu’azu drew the attention of Nigerians to the suspicious decline in electricity distribution in the South West just ahead of the National Elections via a series of tweets on Social Media site, Twitter.

He said in the tweets, “Concerned Nigerians have drawn our attention to the fact that some opposition leaders and vested interest are behind hoarding of fuel.

“Concerned Nigerians also draw our attention to plans by those who control the South-West disco to sabotage electricity in the zone.

“We assure Nigerians, they will fail. All their plans to tarnish the image of government will fail like all other previous attempts. We want to assure concerned Nigerians, especially all of you here on social media, that we will reverse this trend soonest.”

Fola a social media commentator, resident in Lagos told The Herald via telephone that the electricity situation in his suburb of Lagos had never been this bad.

“Power has never been this bad in this Onike area. I really suspect the APC of bribing Eko Electricity Distribution officials. The problem with this people is they do not even check the meters before they usually bring their exorbitant bills. Now that they’ve starved us of light for the past two weeks in order to portray Jonathan in bad light, I really wonder what they hope to gain.

He added, “Even if the APC takes away the water too. I will vote for Jonathan.”
