Oyetola pledges to provide dividends of democracy for Osun people

Gov. Gboyega Oyetola of Osun has pledged to serve the people of the state and give them dividends of democracy.

 

He expressed the commitment on Wednesday in Osogbo at a meeting the managers of the state’s local government councils and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

 

The governor, who was represented by Mr Adejare Adebisi, the Supervisor for the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, solicited the maximum cooperation of all the council managers.

 

Oyetola said that their support would enable his administration to be successful in its efforts to improve the living standards of the people at the grassroots.

 

He said that he wanted the members of the public to begin to feel the positive impact of his administration within the first 100 days of its existence.

 

He charged the council managers to brainstorm and look into viable ways of generating revenue in their various domains for the state.

 

Oyetola thanked the council managers for their support, contributions and understanding during the last governorship election which brought him into power.

 

He said that his administration would collaborate with the local governments on projects, policies and programmes that would be of benefit to the general public.

 

Responding, Mr Yinka Odewale, the Chairman of Council Managers Forum, thanked the governor for giving the council managers an opportunity to contribute to the state’s development.

 

He pledged the support of the council managers for the governor in his efforts to move the state to greater heights. (NAN)
