The lingering fuel scarcity and low power supply plaguing the country has been responsible for the shutdown of several activities across the nation and has caused untold hardship to the citizens.

In line with the increased fares as a result of increased price of scarcely available fuel, the management body of the University of Lagos has announced its shut down of activities effective immediately.

The Institution’s Senate Committee gave reasons for its indefinite shutdown as due to the ongoing agitation by the student body over poor electricity, water supply and the hardship students living off campus face to attend classes due to the fuel crisis.

The University management has however ordered Students to vacate halls of residence by 10:00 am, Friday morning. While some other students have informed the general public of having been kicked out of their school residence as early a 7:00am by armed Rapid Response Squad police officers.
