Five Day Losing Streak for NSE as Index Dips by 0.06%

The primary index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange depreciated for the fifth day in a row as last minute price volatility erased gains made earlier in the day, leading to a loss of 0.06% as against a 0.62% loss recorded yesterday, as the ASI ended the day at 30,123.20 basis points. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.35 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor increased by 3.27% compared to a reduction of 2.73% recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor dipped by 16.27% after reducing by 12.72% yesterday, even as the total value of transactions recorded reduced by 49.52% after increasing by 24.24% yesterday.

The top five most actively traded shares on the exchange today were ZENITHBANK, UNIVINSURE, UBA, EQUITYASUR and FCMB.

Market breadth closed negative as GUINNESS led 18 Gainers against 28 Losers led by INTBREW.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -13.08%.
