THE 60-storey skyscraper which is part of the features of the proposed Abeokuta City Centre and Government City will re-define the landscape of the Ogun State capital, Malaysian Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Dato Sri Mustapha Mohammed has said.

Mohammed, who was addressing a team led by Governor Ibikunle Amosun while on an investment drive in Malaysia, also said the building, which, when completed would be the tallest in Africa, would enhance a total transformation of other cities and towns in the state into cosmopolitan centres.

He described the government’s initiative as laudable and capable of  attracting more investors into the state, noting that the commitment of the administration to bring the Gateway State out of infrastructural decay was a right step in the right direction.

The project, according to him, was possible in all ramifications with the political will being used by the government to drive its vision.

On his part, the Nigeria High Commissioner to Malaysia, Ambassador Bello Sheu Ringim commended Amosun for what he called his “daring willingness to make Ogun the envy of the world.”

“I am always in support of greatness of this sort because Nigeria as a whole needs to take the bull by the horn”, he added.

Responding, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who was accompanied on the trip by some members of his cabinet and professionals, said “we are always ready to partner with genuine investors in our mission to rebuild Ogun.”
