FCT Minister Muhammad Bello on Thursday gave an assurance that significant changes would be evident by the time he completed his assignment.

Bello stated this when he hosted his Press Corps with their Media chiefs at the breaking of fast in Abuja.

He said that some challenges in the FCT looked insurmountable but added that running a city like Abuja required everybody’s efforts.

“FCTA is like a proverbial Elephant; you make your assessment of the FCTA from the part you have seen; some parts of the city can compete with any part of the world.

“And some staff of the FCT can compete and equal to the type and calibre of anybody in the world.

“Of course, when you go to some parts of the city, they can be described as anything.’’

Bello, who appreciated the support of the press corps, thanked them for honouring his invitation.

“I thank you all for the kind support you have been rendering to me and for being patient,’’ he said

Earlier, the Chairman of the Press Corps, Mr Ikharo Attah, assured the minister that the journalists would continue to give his administration fair, objective and balanced reportage.

He said no matter how somebody worked, people would complain and, therefore, advised the minister to continue with the good work he had started.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Minister of State for Power, Mr Mustapha Shehuri, FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr Babatope Ajaikaye, Media Executives including Malam Lawal Ado, the Editor-in-Chief of NAN, attended the event.

Also present were Alhaji Kabir Yusuf of Radio France International, Mamud Jega of Daily Trust, and Abubakar Matazu of Vision FM, among others.(NAN)
