Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom has said that it is not the southerners that would re-elect President Goodluck Jonathan but the whole country.
Akpabio made this statement at the 2015 Akwa Ibom Solemn Assembly and Thanksgiving Interdenominational service at the Ibom Hall in Uyo.
He said “I plead with Nigerians to seek peace and love one another according to the dictates of the Almighty God.
“The best solution to peace and co-existence in the country is the re-election of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as the President in the coming election.
“It is not the southerners that would re-elect Jonathan but the whole country; that is why we have a northerner and a Muslim as the Vice President in the person of Arch. Namadi Sambo.
“This shows that it has nothing to do with ethnic or religious affiliations but the will of God.”
He added that the upcoming elections will further unite Nigeria.
