Leader of proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has reacted to a recent letter by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu.

In the letter signed by its President-General, Chief John Nwodo, the Igbo apex socio-cultural organisation lamented that two Fulani boys were seen in a community in Anambra openly brandishing AK-47 rifles, noting that when the state Commissioner of Police was informed, he declined to order their arrest because of their tribe.

Kanu said the allegation was a confirmation of what his group had been saying since 2012.

Describing the letter as “laughable”, the IPOB leader said it would not yield any fruit because no policeman would arrest them because of powers from above backing them.

According to IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, Kanu stated these in a broadcast on Biafra Radio.

He alleged that South-East governors and Ohanaeze emboldened the Fulani boys by pulling down IPOB which could have stopped them.

“This is what we have been fighting against since 2012, but Ohanaeze Ndigbo and South-East governors called us miscreants that must be shot on sight.

“The same Anambra State where the Army was ordered to shoot on sight any IPOB member, is where the Fulani boys are fearlessly displaying in broad daylight AK47 and Ohaneze Ndigbo President-General, Chief Nnia Nwodo is writing letter to IGP to take action.

“Why is he and South-East Governors complaining now? Have they just woken from their slumber? Are Fulani leaders and their herdsmen no more their friends? Why are they now justifying IPOB’s claim that the Fulanis will come with AK47 for our people? Are IPOB members and Nnamdi Kanu no more miscreants, hoodlums and warmongers who should be shot on sight?

“Why is Ohanaeze Ndigbo president general complaining about Fulani boys carrying AK47 publicly in Akwa and the police in Anambra State could not arrest them? How on earth did he expect IGP or any policeman to arrest them, people who are on the same Islamisation agenda that you want the Police to arrest, which police on earth will do that under this Fulani cabal administration?

“The IGP will not listen to them; they are the same people who opened their mouth to call us miscreants, hoodlums and terrorist that must be killed. They are eating their words by even mentioning that if it is IPOB that was carrying the hubs will the police keep quiet,” Kanu stated.

He explained that the South-East and South-South should quickly set up their regional security outfits as the Yoruba people have done with Amotekun in the South-West.
